Access Control


An Access Control System allows you to identify, authenticate, authorize or restrict the entry of people to a specific area by validating the information through different types of reading.

The main objective of Access Control is to control, implement, record and review events that occur in a given space to ensure the security of the property(ies) or the individuals that are there.

Access Control technology is increasingly used around the world as a security measure in institutions.

Biometrics are a fundamental part of an Access Control system, since they represent the direct interface with the user, receiving information from the user to assess whether or not the individual has access to the site.

There are many types of biometrics such as fingerprint, hand, iris, vein, and voice readers that are accompanied by keypads or keyboards, or proximity cards to achieve more robust solutions. In this way, it is possible to implement that an individual's access through a door requires a combination of fingerprint (biometric), pin (keyboard), and card. The combination of only 2 of them is feasible, or even access can be selected with only one of the 3 options.

Software

Software

Access Control Software is the backbone of the system. Its main functions include establishing bidirectional, efficient and secure communication through the interpretation and encoding of information coming from control panels, biometric readers, proximity readers, etc. Likewise, Access Control Software is generally composed of a Server (manages the database, licensing, parameter configuration and information storage) and one or more Clients (local or remote interface for system operators/administrators).

Based on the requirements of each project, Access Control Software is key to meeting and exceeding the needs of the end user, having the ability to integrate CCTV , Fire, Perimeter Security platforms, among others.

​Time & Attendance

As a complementary part of Access Control , Time and Attendance in a company is key for personnel management. Administration is achieved by integrating biometric equipment (hardware) with a user-friendly system (software) where schedules, shifts and restrictions are created for specific users or groups of users (departments).

The Time and Attendance platform controls, in a centralized and/or remote manner, any incident that occurs on a daily basis: attendance, punctuality, absences, meal times, working hours, overtime, among others. This is done automatically and in real time with the help of widely configurable reports, significantly reducing arduous recurring reviews of personnel assigned to said tasks; thus allowing for more efficient processes that can even be integrated into payroll platforms, obtaining automatic calculations for human capital payments (salaried, part-time, etc.).

Barriers and turnstiles

Within an access control system there is another important peripheral component, these are the Barriers and Turnstiles that will open the blocked access. There are vehicle barriers that can be low flow and high flow depending on the use that will be given to them: toll, perimeter, corporate, residential, among others. It must be considered that the quality of the barrier that you want to implement depends on the daily cycles, that is, the number of openings they have in a day and the speed with which they will open and close an access, with 1 second being the fastest and 3 seconds or more for those with heavier arms. The arm of the barriers can be straight or retractable, with lengths that must be adapted to the size of the access.
To block or allow pedestrian access, there are tripod-type turnstiles that have 3 articulated arms, uni or bidirectional, they can support readers or be integrated into access controls. It is very important that they allow the release of the arm in case of emergency. There are more aesthetic turnstiles that are called folding turnstiles with tempered glass doors. They contain LED indicators or screens that show the status of the access or the person who wants to access.

Pivoting doors for services that require a larger access. There are also bollards that generally operate through hydraulic pneumatics that require the installation of a cistern.

These devices are integrated into an access control system through a controller card which in turn is controlled by the Access Control software.
