Players

A player is a device that is responsible for sending content to a screen. Somehow even an Apple TV or BluRay are players, they are devices that are responsible for sending content to a screen. Sometimes, especially when it comes to designing a solution for digital signage, what we want is to have the same content that is playing over and over again with information that can range from advertising, to time, climate, or the values of a company. As it is very limited content that is going to be played continuously, a Digital Signage player is usually a small processor, the size of a hand or smaller, which can have the content to be played preloaded. You can also point the player to content that is extracted from a cloud, or from a remote database.

An ambitious system of digital signage for a corporation with a national presence, for example, can be composed of screens and players that can be linked to a network from wherever they are, to design, control and launch their content from a central point, such as their Headquarters offices. A player also allows to divide a screen into sections, so that a part of the screen shows the exchange rate, another section shows the weather, and another section shows advertising content. In this way, a network of players will be able to synchronize the content of all the screens in a digital signage system.
